4 Session Virtual Training Course | $600 / participant
All sessions are held on Zoom, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm Pacific Time
Course Description
Empathy interviews are a human-centered method to hear stories and experiences from people most impacted by systems in order to better solve problems. It is critical that team members embody the values and mindsets that are foundational to the practice as well as understand the logistics to carry them out. This course provides essential training for teams or individuals as they begin empathy interviews or seek to improve an existing practice.
Session 1: Learn the foundational elements of empathy interviews, including the mindsets, principles, practices, and how empathy interviews can support efforts to build more just and equitable systems.
Session 2: Build an empathy interview protocol that aligns with a common need in the region. Understand the logistics behind preparing for data collection, including how to ensure equitable representation and strategies for lessening the impacts of power differentials.
Session 3: Learn how to analyze empathy interview data. Reflect on how our own identities, biases, values, and experiences influence how we make meaning of what others share with us.
Session 4: Learn how to incorporate empathy interview findings into your improvement efforts and complete your interview planning.
Through this experience, participants will...
